Pixelion Inspector Privacy Policy

Summary

Pixelion Inspector is a Chrome extension that tells you which apps a Shopify store uses. It does not collect, store on our servers or sell any personal or browsing data.

What the extension reads

Only when you click its icon, the extension reads the active tab: the page's HTML, the URLs of the scripts it has loaded and that page's public Shopify information (store and theme name). When needed, it also downloads one product page or the /cart.js file of the same store, just like your browser would.

All of it is analyzed inside your browser, shown in the extension's window and discarded when you close it. It is not sent to Pixelion or any third party.

What it downloads

At most once a day, the extension downloads the public app database (detection signatures, prices and categories) from www.pixelion.es. The request carries no cookies or identifiers and includes nothing about you or the pages you visit. Our hosting provider may log technical data about that request (such as the IP address) for a limited time, as with any website.

What it stores in your browser

The downloaded app database and the date of the last download, in the extension's local storage (chrome.storage.local). It is removed when you uninstall the extension. The stores you analyze are not stored.

If you click "See full report" or "Discover Pixelion", www.pixelion.es opens in a new tab. The report link includes the analyzed store's domain and UTM parameters (utm_source=chrome-extension) so we know you came from the extension. From there, the website's privacy policy applies.

Permissions

activeTab: access to the active tab only after you click the icon. scripting: run the page scan in that tab. storage: keep the app database in your browser. The extension does not ask for permanent access to any website.

Use of data

The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. There are no analytics, ads or remote code.
